On my mind: January 25th
While spending the weekend in Eugene visiting friends, I’m making the most of my unlimited library access before I graduate. Having been a student essentially my entire life, it’s hard to conceptualize what post-grad life will look like without the support and resources provided to students.
While perusing the shelves of the UO Design Library, I found a new photographer I’m excited to study: Wolfgang Tillmans, a book exploring the relationship between food and color written by Pantone, and several texts about design philosophy I’m excited to dive into.
On my desk: January 20th
This year I’ve been looking to physical media as my first source of inspiration in an effort to disconnect from the digital stream of hyper-curated social media and reconnect with trend-nonspecific, varied perspectives.
Accordingly, I’ve been pilling library books on my desk, flipping through pages to explore the forms of early 2000s sport gear, gain insight on playground design, and ponder the impacts of modern designers and problem solvers.
As someone who’s grown up in an increasingly digital age, this has been wonderfully impactful on my design process, creativity, and learning.
